This web site or any portion of it may not be reproduced, duplicated, copied, sold, resold or otherwise exploited for any commercial purpose without express written consent of SMI. You are granted a limited, revocable, and nonexclusive right to create a hyperlink to the home page of OWV (with permission) so long as the link does not portray OWV, in a false, misleading, or otherwise offensive manner. You may not use any OWV logos or other proprietary graphics or trademark(s) as part of the hyperlink without express written permission of OWV. You may not mirror any of the content from this site on another web site or in any other media.
Use of this site is at your own risk. All information and services are provided on an as is basis with no warranties or representations. In addition, SMI makes no warranty or representation that this site will be consistent, secure or error free. Any downloads of any sort are done at your own risk and you will be solely responsible for any damages that may result including loss of data or to your computer system.
Services Rendered Policy
The policy of expected payment for services rendered is in effect and in force when any work OWV does on behalf of its customers/clients regardless of claims of non existence to our services rendered policy - "I didn't know about this policy". Non awareness of this policy does not constitute a way to escape responsibility of payment and other expected obligations to complete our mutually agreed contract. This policy is in effect automatically once agreement between SMI and "the client" regarding the service request occurs - ie: customer agrees to level of service and signs off on either verbal terms of agreed service or email service confirmation. The policy is not in effect if work has not begun and the customer changes their minds before work begins.
Operational Policies
Awareness
SMI or Swarm Multimedia Inc., and Ottawa Wedding Videos or OWV are herein treated as the same entity for purposes in the context that follows.
Undertaking to engage SMI in the production of your wedding video constitutes a contract that you have read and agree with our corporate policies as stated below, which includes the Wedding Service Contract.
The policies outlined below are in effect and in force when any work is "in progress" by OWV on behalf of you our customer. Claims of non-awareness of these policies does not constitute ways to circumvent payment when due or to financially or legally harm in any way SMI, its divisions and its corporate members should the occasion arise. These policies are in effect automatically once work begins on our mutually agreed upon contract and terminates (other than stated elsewhere), upon final payment for services rendered. However, the foregoing policies are not in effect or in force if work has not begun and the customer changes their minds before video production begins.
Copyright
All original media and its content whether recorded on video tapes of any kind that was used in the recording of the wedding etal, films created, memory cartridges used, hard drives and its original content recorded by OWV is owned by SMI and thus is copyright holder. This may mean that upon occasion some content may be used for advertising purposes on our web site or demo reels. In turn, we will not sell or otherwise give away, denigrate, put in a negative light in any context whatsoever any such material when used by SMI for marketing purposes. This particular policy remains in effect and force even after the contract has been 'closed' - ie: payment for services rendered has been completed, and shall remain so at the discretion of SMI. Invoking this policy may be very rare.
Archival Copies and Raw Materials
As a matter of course, we keep all digital assets used for a wedding production indefinitely or at our discretion. We do not guarantee materials will be kept for any period of time, but can be in excess of 5 years. We reserve the right to change this policy at any time without notice.
